8 Must-See Netflix Shows

I should preface this post with the fact that this is not an ad, I am not affiliated with Netflix, I am simply addicted to it! I am always on the lookout for new recommendations, which is why I thought I’d share this with you today, my 8 must-see Netflix shows, in case you are up for trying a new series. The list is a real mixture of genres and some are new, some old, but all are on Netflix now and if you haven’t yet seen them, go see them! I was fortunate enough to have a lot of these recommended to me (one of my FAVOURITE things about having a lovely Instagram following is shout-outs for TV recommendations as I always get some great ideas!) and so I now pass that joy onto you….

Breaking Bad

A high school chemistry teacher diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer turns to manufacturing and selling methamphetamine in order to secure his family’s future.

My favourite series of all time. Hands down. If you’ve yet to see this, go see it. Now.

Sex Education

A teenage boy with a sex therapist mother teams up with a high school classmate to set up an underground sex therapy clinic at school.

This is so good. We watched it within a few days, and I believe they have just commissioned a second series, hooray!

The Sinner

Anthology series that examines how and why ordinary people commit brutal crimes.

I have seen (and binge-watched) the first season, so will be moving on to the second one soon.

Atypical

Sam, an 18-year-old on the autism spectrum, decides it’s time to find a girlfriend, a journey that sets Sam’s mom on her own life-changing path as her son seeks more independence.

We are just onto the second season of this one, and we have really enjoyed the first. I have laughed, shouted and cried.

Orange is the New Black

Convicted of a decade old crime of transporting drug money to an ex-girlfriend, normally law-abiding Piper Chapman is sentenced to a year and a half behind bars to face the reality of how life-changing prison can really be.

You get so attached to these characters, it just draws you in to their world.

Queer Eye

A new Fab Five set out to Atlanta to help the city’s straight men refine their wardrobes, grooming, diet, cultural pursuits, and home décor.

So much fun! I laugh and I cry, every episode.

Stranger Things

When a young boy disappears, his mother, a police chief, and his friends must confront terrifying forces in order to get him back.

I love the 80s setting, the characters are so likeable and the story-line keeps you watching.

Grace and Frankie

Finding out that their husbands are not just work partners, but have also been romantically involved for the last twenty years, two women with an already strained relationship try to cope with the circumstances together.

This has a great cast, every character is believable. It is a comedy with real depth, you do grow to love the characters.

As a bonus mention, my son would also heartily recommend Ultimate Beastmaster – it seems to be permanently on our TV!

Next on my list are You, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Arrested Development. And should I watch Gilmore Girls?

Have you seen any of these? What would you add to the list?

Sharing is caring!

  1. I am right into watching Netflix shows at the moment.
These all sound like fab shows. I love Breaking Bad and have watched it all a couple of times and I have heard good things about Sex Education. I can’t wait for the new Stranger Things later this year.
I watched Russian Doll yesterday. A total binge and it was brilliant. Dark, funny and just a fab story. x
