The children have received some new trainers from Brantano, so let me tell you a little about them…
For Little Man (who I have to say is not so little any more and seems to have huge feet) I chose the Adidas Advantage Vst Casual Trainers.
Bright blue with a yellow inner and flashes of yellow trim, I think they’re a bit different.
I tend to favour velcro on trainers as Little Man can’t yet do his own laces up, but can put these on himself. The three straps mean that they can also open nice and wide for him to easily put his foot in. His feet are quite wide, he’s currently a ‘G’ fitting, and these are perfect and very comfortable for him. I’d say the shoe size comes up true to size, too.
Boo adores pinks and purples, so these Adidas Hoops Casual Trainers were just made for her…
Similarly to Little Man, Boo has wide feet, and these fit her well. Boo is really happy with them. She has quite a good range of footwear, so for her to declare that these are now her favourites is a great sign!
I absolutely love them. I think they have a retro vibe, taking me back to the eighties. The children love the bright colours and they both tell me that they’re really comfortable as they leap and run around in them.
They’ve not yet worn them enough for me to need to wash them, so that’s yet to be put to the test, though I’ve not had any problems with other Adidas trainers in the past. These trainers were both less than £30 a pair and I know that they’ll pretty much live in them for the next few months. They’ll be comfortable as well as looking good.
Brantano have a huge range of footwear for children, with all styles and tastes catered for. For casual-wear, they stock brands such as Adidas, Vans, Puma, Skechers, Nike and their back to school range includes Clarks, Hush Puppies and Start-Rite shoes. I chose these on-line where it was easy to browse and find styles to suit my two, filtering by sizes and brands. They then arrived quickly and well-packaged. If you go into your local store, Brantano currently have a competition running until 4th September to win after-school adventures worth up to £500, just guess the number of shoe laces in a jar at till point to enter.
What do you think of these trainers? Do you shop at Brantano?
Disclosure: We received these trainers FOC for the purposes of this review

They are lovely!
Absolutely love the colours! I would love a pair my size! #TriedTested
Yes, I’m with you on that!
Oh I love the colours! And I agree they do have a retro feel to them.
Will have to have a browse for my two little men 🙂 x
Ah, hope you find something 🙂
These are gorgeous trainers – love the colours and the Velcro is so much easier for kids to do up themselves than laces. Glad to hear that Boo and Little Man are happy with them 🙂 #TriedTested
They love them!
These look lovely, I love the bright colours! Xx
As do I! x
I love how bright they are! And velcro is always a winner. Ben has recently learned to tie his own laces – which is fantastic but not so much when I’m in a rush to get out of the door 😉
Thanks for sharing your review on #TriedTested this week x
Hmm, I can picture the scene!
I have a little pair of bright pink Adidas trainers and love them, the Velcro really helps too. Great review! #TriedTested xx
Velcro is always a winner! Thanks!
Love the bright colours, these would be a massive hit with my eldest 2! Great price too. Thanks for linking up with #TriedTested
They are fab!
So many shoes have velcro nowadays that BB is five and can’t tie shoe laces! Love the colours! #TriedTested
Yep, same here!
