Today we’re chatting about all things papery over in our Bring Back Paper memberships, our Patreon supporters.
If you’ve not seen this before, we have memberships over there, dedicated to indulging in our love of all things paper.
These came about as a way to give those of you who love your papery hobbies something more every month, and as a way for you to show your support for Bring Back Paper.
Patreon is a place where creators can offer things to subscribers, all completely unique to them.
It allows me to tailor things to our community and offer things that you tell me you’d like to see there.
Every so often, I do take to the blog, Patreon or Facebook group and ask people what they’d like to see from me, to ensure I am keeping all offerings relevant and current for you.
This will be ongoing, I will keep checking in that I am delivering what you’d like to see, and it’s a good time to offer your input.
How Does It Work?
It’s an easy to use platform, one of it’s major appeals to me.
If you go over there now you’ll see how it’s all laid out and that you can join up to supporter creators – me, in this case.
There are Free memberships, so it’s worth at least signing up for those if you enjoy BBP as I do sometimes create polls, content and activities for all members, including Free members.
There are then several other tiers that you can subscribe to, all with different offerings, so have a read through those to see which ones appeal.
Annual subscriptions offer a discount, subscriptions can be amended as you move between different tiers and can be cancelled at any time.
What’s In It For Me?
There are four different tiers so you can choose whichever one suits you best.
Monthly Challenge + Printables, All The Swaps!, Monthly Happy Mail and Monthly Papery Mail (currently sold out).
As you can tell from their names, they include things like an Inspiration Challenge, printable writing paper, happy mail and swaps that are unique to Patreon.
The swaps vary each month, and members do vote for their favourite each time. We’ve had things like ‘Sticker Stash Swap’, ‘Spring Themed Swap’, ‘Secret Santa’, ‘The Colourful Swap’ and so many more. Members then opt in to them if they’d like to, on a swap by swap basis.
Our members are from all over the globe, the majority are from the USA.
I think in answer to the original question, what’s in it for you is a way to enjoy your papery, creative time each month. It’s a way of dedicating a little time to something that’s for you, and that you enjoy. Whether that be by trying the challenge, receiving some mail, joining in with the swaps or using the printables, everyone is different and you’ll know what appeals the most to you.
It’s also about being a part of something, I think. A part of our Bring Back Paper community, a way of saying ‘yes, let’s enjoy slowing down with paper and let’s encourage more people to do so’.
For me, I love writing to some of our members each month, and it’s always fun to design for them. Thinking up the activities and arranging them is great. Patreon is a lovely addition to our BBP community and I really enjoy spending time working over there.
I hope this answers the questions I have been having about Patreon, but if not, please do feel free to comment or email me with any other queries.
What do you think? Could our BBP Patreon be for you?
