Welcome to this month’s blog progress report.
Another month has flown by, and this one has felt quite different with the children at home. I have not been on my usual working patterns, it’s been a bit all over the place, but still all ticking along!
This month has also seen me slow down a bit as Covid 19 took me out, and I do think the combo of that and the holidays has slowed the pace and it’s been no bad thing. You’ll still have been seeing fresh content regularly and reading those newsletters, there’s just been a bit less going on behind the scenes. It’s worked for me and it’s actually been a rest I needed in order to come back stronger next month, read on to hear more….

It makes sense to begin by talking about my one year on update, that I shared a couple of weeks ago. I reflected back on the goals and plans that I put in place this time last year and looked at how I had done against them.
Whilst my initial thought was that I hadn’t achieved all that I set out to do, I then started listing all that I had done and it was a pretty good list!
Things have changed around here and there’s plenty happening now that wasn’t even on my radar a little over a year ago. I’m pleased to see that and it’s wonderful to see how many of you have embraced these new areas with me and are enjoying all that I am creating.
The main shift I recognised was my change in energy and motivation. Again, a good thing, as it would have been tricky to maintain that pace! However, as the summer draws to a close, I can feel it creeping back and I am getting excited about working on a few things next month.
This month has been about continuing to grow and maintain Bring Back Paper through arranging stationery swaps, keeping up with sharing on my InstaStories, promoting the content and sending out my newsletters. I’ve also been running a couple of great competitions to win books, so I am all about the paper this month!
I enjoyed packaging up the Patreon Bring Back Paper Memberships happy mail parcels and arranging this month’s activity. I’m quite excited by this one, the My Hometown swap, and it looks like the poll has decided that next month it will be a Welcome to Autumn swap which I think will be fabulous.
The Bring Back Paper Facebook group has been busy and continues to grow. It’s a rare day when I don’t have several new member requests to review and approve so papery people are definitely finding our group.
This month we have also had the book readalong, and it was a great book, a story that I know will stay with me. I already have next month’s book lined up on my shelf, ready to read next.
As always, my Etsy store continues to tick over even though I’ve done very little with it this month.
There’s been no developments at all on my SEO course and other behind the scenes work, these have all been set aside during the holidays.
Of course, my newsletters have been going out with Flodesk, my newsletter provider, as these are fun and easy to do.
If you’re on the lookout for an email provider for your business they do offer free trials and if you use my affiliate link to sign up with, you will also get 50% off the monthly fee. Here’s the Flodesk link, do let me know if you give them a go, I’d love to hear your experiences with them.
Plans for next month
Next month is September, which to me is my new year. I love September!
I have new stationery at the ready, poised for creating goals, actions and plans and I am excited to get going with it all.
As always, there will be a Bring Back Paper activity and a readalong, so I will be promoting both of those and hoping that plenty of people join in.
I am already looking forward to preparing my Patreon members happy mail, I have everything ready for them so I’ll be packaging that up early in the month. Their new paper is designed and ready for them at the start of the month and we’ll get the Welcome to Autumn activity going.
Blog content will continue, and the plan is to stick to my schedule of new content every Monday and Wednesday as this seems to be working well. My newsletters will keep going out on Fridays.
I will then be focusing on developing some new ideas and shifting my focus in a few areas.
I keep talking about creating content on YouTube and I see this as being a key part of my plans moving forward so this will be a big part of September. I want to develop new products for my Etsy store and then I have a few ideas swirling around my mind for courses and events, and it’s these that will need more thought next month so that I can bring them to you.
That SEO course will then be bobbing along in the background.
I am also thinking about ways in which I can work differently, batching tasks together and blocking out my diary in new ways. I’ll see how that goes, I’ve a fair few things to juggle.
All in all, I am looking forward to next month and getting going on a few new ideas.
What are your thoughts on my activities and plans?
