Welcome to this month’s blog progress report.
The kids were back at school so I was getting myself back into some sort of a routine. And then my son’s bubble burst at school and he has been back home with me since the middle of last week. Ah well, I had a little over 2 weeks to myself! I have been managing to work alongside him as I still have the computer so it’s not as bad as it was when it was both of them at home.
I have to say, it wasn’t as easy as I would have expected getting back into it all. My usual motivation has taken a hit somewhere along the way, maybe this lockdown has drained me more than I had realised?
It is now creeping back and I am finding myself getting excited again about upcoming content and projects so I am not concerned. It can wane from time to time and I tend to roll with it as it can be tricky forcing creativity. I have focused on tasks that do not require as much creative thinking whilst in this slump and it’s working as I can feel myself coming out the other side.
Dipping into social media is probably the thing that I have cut down this month. It hasn’t been a conscious decision, I just haven’t felt like doing it. Some days I love social media and at other times I would rather ignore it! This is not ideal when I am supposed to use it so I am making more of an effort to get back into this now.
The Bring Back Paper part of the blog always keeps me busy and gains lots of new followers weekly. I have then enjoyed talking about other areas this month, too, as I usually split my posts so that Mondays posts are more lifestyle, family or home and garden pieces, with Wednesdays reserved for Bring Back Paper content.
My Bring Back Paper Memberships continue to be fun to work on. I love choosing the products for the happy mail packages every month and then planning and filming for the monthly activities. There is a lovely community building over there, it’s a fun space to interact and work in.
The Bring Back Paper Facebook group continues to thrive. It’s now at a stage that there are so many people in there it keeps itself busy! There are lots of like-minded folks there so the chat is always super positive, upbeat and creative.
This month, we have had a book swap and we also had a book readalong which seems to have more and more people joining in, which is great to see. I am already looking forward to reading next month’s book with everyone.
Next month’s writing paper that my Bring Back Paper Members receive exclusively each month is all designed and ready to go at the start of April. March’s went down well so I am hoping this one will too. I will then get on with recording the activity details this week so it is ready to go at the beginning of April.
I am making my way through the SEO course videos and implementing any learns from this. I am ensuring that I do a little each and every day so this area continues to improve.
I have spent more time working on Pinterest this month. This was something that fell by the wayside during the homeschool weeks, and whilst it has managed to tick over, I am enjoying getting back into it again and seeing improvements.
I added a new product to my Etsy store this month, a new Fairies Pen Pal Fun Pack. I sold one within minutes of adding it to my store so that was brilliant! I am currently working on a completely new product, so hoping to have that in store next month.
My newsletters continue to go out on Fridays and writing this each week is one of my favourite tasks of the week. I like to share a little about my week and what I am up to, along with recent posts and digging into the blog archives for a little dose of inspiration.
Plans for next month
Well, next month will see the kids off for a fortnight with the Easter break so I am working around that.
By the end of this week I will have scheduled all Bring Back Paper memberships content and the next two week’s worth of papery blog posts to keep that going. This means that I just need to write a couple of other posts and get my happy mail parcels out over the Easter holidays, along with keeping things ticking with emails and social media. That’s the plan at this point anyway.
I want to get that new Etsy product I mentioned finished and into my store next month.
As always, there will be a new Bring Back Paper activity here on the blog and a new readalong, so I will be promoting those and getting on with organising them.
Towards the end of the month, I will plan May’s Memberships activity and design the new paper for that.
YouTube. Ah, YouTube. Maybe this just isn’t the platform for me? It always falls to the bottom of my list! No, no, I will not give up on this yet. Maybe the breakthrough is just around the corner and I will completely fall in love with it. It remains on my list!
Blog content will continue to go out, I will keep working on collaborative projects, I will keep that social media ticking over and in particular I will keep pushing on the Pinterest front.
What are your thoughts on my activities and plans?
