The lovely Karen over at TwinLifeOnline tagged me in this meme about blogging, which I’ve enjoyed writing, as it’s made me really stop and think!
Here are the questions and my answers…
What/Who encouraged you to start blogging?
I actually started with a blog for my business, last April, and found that I liked writing and getting involved with the blogging community, so I then moved on and started up this family blog, too, in July 2013.
How did you choose what topics to blog about?
I knew at the start that I’d want to blog about what we get up to as a family, to keep a record and share, so whether that be days out, family fun at home, special moments, budgeting – anything we do, really. Once I got going, the other ideas started tumbling into my head, and haven’t stopped since! I love books, and am very passionate about getting the kids into a lifetime habit of reading, so that was always going to feature regularly. I’d just decided to redesign the garden, so Project Garden seemed a good way of tracking it (and forcing me to carry on with it!), and then other posts and features have just kept on coming ever since.
What is something most people don’t know about you?
I get terrible motion sickness. Yes, it’s a random fact, but one that I suppose only really my family know about. Cars are OK, as long as I’m sitting in the front (or driving – that’s fine!), I got used to trains from years of commuting, but can never sit facing backwards or that’ll make me ill. Boats I avoid at all costs. I love to travel, but hate going on a long plane journey as I know I’ll feel bad from start to finish. I’d love to be able to sit and read, and then I’d actually look forward to the flight – hours of uninterrupted reading time! But no, I pretty much sit there for hours with my eyes closed hoping I’ll make it to land without being sick!
What 3 words describe your style?
Positive, Eclectic and Me.
What do you like to do when you are not blogging?
Well, everything that I then blog about and tell you! I’d say that other than spending time with my family, I love to read and write. I’ve always got a book or two on the go, and I have several pen pals that I love to correspond with. Both hobbies help me to switch off and slow down a little.
So that’s a little about me. I’ll now nominate:
Thursday’s Child, Friday’s Thoughts
Lisa’s Life
I invite you to blog your heart out, if you so choose!
I only stumbled upon your blog last week, through your “Theme Game” Linky (loving it!), and I really enjoyed reading your post today. It makes you sound more real. I have only been blogging (in the open) for a week, and I have already “met” quite a few amazing people. What a brilliant world the blogging one is! Mel
Thank you very much. The blogging community is a fab place and I’m so glad you’re enjoying it so much. It’s very chatty on Twitter, so if you’re there, come say ‘hi’ 🙂
Love your blogging style words hon… I also get motion sickness, but mainly in cars especially in the back seat – what’s that all about?! It’s fab that you still manage to find so much time to read xx
Thank you. Hate motion sickness! I didn’t say I find loads of time to read, just that I do 😉 A grabbed 10 minutes before bed always makes me feel happy.
Ah – I used ti have penpals when I was at primary school – I loved the anticipation of reading letters from all over the world…would be nice to do it again instead of emailing x
Me, too. Loved it, which is why I’ve got back into it again. Love getting my happy post 🙂
It only took me a week to do! 🙂
