I have been all about books over the summer and I have read some truly wonderful ones. That’s why I’ve decided that this month’s Bring Back Paper activity just has to be a book swap.
It’s always great to lose yourself in a good book, and the book swap could re-ignite a passion for reading, get you out of a reading slump or just add to your book target this year. If you are keen to get reading, don’t forget to look out for this month’s book readalong too.
If you haven’t tried this activity before, the idea behind the book swap is really simple and easy for anyone to join in with. It is open internationally and you can join in as long as you are aged over 18. The idea is to send a pre-loved fiction book out into the world for someone else to enjoy, and for the recipient to be reading something that they may not have chosen themselves. It’s a lovely item of surprise happy mail to receive and it might help you to find a new author or genre that you love. I think that it’s fun to read something that you might not have picked up yourself every once in a while.
Join the Book Swap
If you’d like to join in, please email me at [email protected] with the following details:
Details needed – Name, address, and your least favourite genre.
To keep postage costs down, I’ll always aim to pair you with someone in the same country wherever possible.
The idea behind the swap is that you receive a completely pot luck book that perhaps you would not have picked up yourself, though by specifying your least favourite genre, it means you shouldn’t get something that you already know that you really don’t like! It’s all part of the risk and the reward!
You will all be in pairs, so you will be sending to the same person that you will receive your book from. I will send over email details along with the address details of your swap partner so that you can get in touch with one another directly in the case of any problems.
The swap is open until 28th September 2020 and all swaps need to be sent in time to be received by the end of September, so please do only join in if you can commit to sending a book this month, as I’d hate for anyone to be disappointed.
Is this something you fancy trying this month?

Hi Jocelyn,
This is a great idea. I love how we are sharing our books and so, love with this Book Swap. I really want to participate but I can only do if you have another participant in India as I cannot afford to send internationally, yet.
Even though, if I am not able to participate, you guys will have fun on my behalf.
Hello! Unfortunately, I don’t have any other participants in India at the moment, but if I do get one through, I will message you immediately!
