Capturing A Moment

If you’re a regular reader here you’ll know that my daughter loves music. She’s always singing, always playing music wherever she goes and loves having concerts to look forward to. We’ve been to a few together and last weekend we went to our biggest. Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour.

Now, whether you’re a Swiftie or not, I’m sure this is one you’ve heard of. The scramble for tickets last year still haunts me! It’s a huge tour with Taylor singing songs from each of her 11 albums during the set, the different eras.

Not only was this a big concert, it was made special because all four of us went along to it.

We made a weekend of it, staying up in Liverpool. We shopped, visited museums, went on a Magical Mystery Tour taking in the likes of Penny Lane and The Cavern Club, and spotted lots of the pop up Taylor installations dotted around the city.

Eras was my son’s first live music experience, and it was great to be able to do this with him, and to enjoy it all together.

My daughter spent the week before making bracelets, so we all had those, and then the two of us had bought era themed outfits, Speak Now and Fearless. She was ‘bejewelled’ and popped a few purple gems on her brother too and we set off on the walk to Anfield – I think we did around a 7 mile round walk, but it was still faster than getting a shuttle or lift. We walk fast and you can imagine the traffic with a 55,000 crowd!

Paramore were great and then the countdown clock started. The air fizzled with anticipation.

As you’d expect, the show was fabulous, everyone was up on their feet and singing (shouting?) the lyrics to every song, and the atmosphere was friendly and joyful.

It was a night we’ll all remember, one that we all enjoyed, and I’m sure everyone says the same thing after their Eras experience.

For me, seeing the kids enjoying it all so much made it.

I have videos of them singing along with all they have and they make me so happy to watch.

It was one of those moments that as a parent you’re just bursting as you were able to give them that. It was a real privilege and they know how lucky they were to be able to go along.

It was a weekend to remember, capturing a moment that I’ll always treasure. Thank you, Eras, you were spectacular.

Sharing is caring!

  1. My girls both love Taylor Swift so I understand all the craziness which surrounds her! We’ve watched the concert on Disney+ and it must have been amazing to see it live! It sounds like you all had a fantastic time! x
