Today I want to share with you a few ideas for capturing memories on paper.
It will come as no surprise to you that I prefer to capture memories on paper, than solely digitally. Of course, I do that too, this blog is evidence of that! But I do also like to use journals, record books, lists, mail, albums and more to capture things for me, and I thought you might like to try a few of them.

Journals
We’ll start here as journals are such a simple way to capture those memories.
You might keep journals for different things, or simply have one that you write in daily or when the mood takes you.
Journals can be places for your scribbles, or they can be a space for you to get crafty and creative. You might draw, doodle, or decorate your journal, and this one’s all about whatever makes you enjoy the process more.
I shared some suggestions for setting up a reading journal in one of my recent videos, so that might give you a few ideas for that, or you can adapt it to suit the journal of your choice.
Happy Mail
Your memories needn’t be captured just for you, they can be shared with family and friends through happy mail.
Whether it’s talking about a recent trip or a holiday newsletter, this is a fun way for you to capture a memory, and then share it with others.
Photo Albums
I know this one might seem a little old-fashioned, but I love a photo album.
Yes, I know we have photos on our phones, but wouldn’t it be nice to have them printed out to look at too? I think so.
I use an older version of this photo printer, if you’re looking to get one for yourself and I do love it.
Scrapbooks
This one’s so much fun to do and allows you to create something of a combination of several of these ideas.
A scrapbook can be part journal, part photo album, part record book and part crafty space to collect various bits and bobs. It has it all!
You could create a scrapbook for a specific event or just add to it throughout the year as the mood takes you.
Birthday Books
I’ve written about this one before, and I do love this.
Every year, I update my kids’ birthday books on their birthdays.
I started doing this on their first birthday and I’ve enjoyed updating it every year since then. Will they treasure them when they’re older? Will they even read them? Who knows, but I love that I’ve captured this for them and it’ll be theirs to keep when they’re adults.
Record Books
This one springs to mind as I have record books from when both of my children were born.
I think you can get record books for lots of things these days, and if there’s not one for the thing you want to record? Make your own!
Do you enjoy capturing memories on paper? I hope this has inspired you to try something new.
