Little Man loves his arts and crafts, so when I suggested last week that we make a Valentine’s card for his beloved big sister, he jumped at the chance. Never mind that he hasn’t a clue what Valentine’s Day is, it was an opportunity to get the glue out and get creative! Sometimes I just give him the supplies and paper and he designs to his heart’s content, and then at other times, I give him a bit more direction. So I drew him a heart outline and then suggested he continue the card himself.
It must be handed to him, he really concentrated on this one, as he tends to when he’s getting his craft on. He carefully selected his colours and materials, and you can probably just see a glimpse there of the wide range of options available to him.
But what did he go for, after thinking it all through? Black and then googly eyes. I mean, why not? What says ‘love’ better than that combination?
Thoughts, anyone?
The Husband reeled back at it and muttered something about it being quite sinister, but Boo? Boo absolutely loves it! ‘For me?’ she cried, reaching lovingly for her little brother, desperate to hug and thank him, and he adored basking in his crafty glory. A precious sibling moment that made me so proud of both of them, if I averted my gaze from the card…
Eye love you 🙂
I think it’s fantastic
Ha ha! Thanks x
is it wrong that I really love it?!?
It holds a special place in my heart, too 🙂
oh my its certainly *cough cough* interesting .. or he just likes keeping an eye on his sister, i love the creative minds of little ones
Thanks for linking up with #MagicMoments
Endlessly fascinating! x
But googly eyes are probably the best thing in the craft box and he’s given her loads! He must love her loads too!
You are right, a sure sign of love!
‘Eye’ love it!!!
Great post x
Thanks, Sarah. Boo was certainly pleased with it! x
Next time we meet, we must arrange a crafting activity for the three of them (I’d include my youngest, but to be honest all he wants to do is stick things down in a random fashion for a few minutes!) I love Little Man’s concentration. I think the card is fab 🙂
Good idea! Little Man really does concentrate on any arts/crafts things, he amazes me as his attention span is not great with anything else! Thank you 🙂 x
What’s not to love; googly eyes in a big heart – says it all if you ask me!!
Ha ha – you’re right!
“Beauty is in the EYE of the beholder.” Plato
I love his apron too! 🙂

What’s not to love?! I think it is fantastic 🙂 I am sure there are some funny puns that could go along with it!
Oh yes! The kids love it, which is the main thing 🙂 x
Ha ha! Bless him, yes well it is …. different… 🙂 x
Yes, different is a good description! x
It looks as though it could be found on monsters inc . a cute but slightly odd heart
Yep, it is odd! They love it, fortunately! x
My kinda style! Death Metal Valentines Day Card (with creepy spider eyes). Boom! #Magicmoments
Ha ha, thanks!
So cute! It looks as though he put lots of effort into his work of art.

Hi Jocelyn,
Lovely to come over to your blog. The post title caught my attention and I just had to see what the card looked like! I LOVE it 🙂 hahaha what a wonderful card full of googlie eyes. It reminds me of the cards my son used to make, always a little ‘off the wall’ but I think it’s cool to be different. Who wants a card like everyone else…not me! xx
This is true, it’s certainly unique! Thanks for popping by 🙂 x
I think it’s quite lovely, and his sister adores it, as you said. At the end of the day, it’s the thought that counts. Perhaps when they’re older they’ll pull it out of their memory box and have a great laugh about it 🙂
Ah yes, you’re right there – I suppose I’d best keep it!
I think it is fab. I love kids creativity and the things that they can come up with in their minds. Imagination is such a gift.
It really is, always fascinating
Lol, bless him! It looks like he worked really hard on that card and it does look great, though I agree a little creepy. I love seeing what children will create on their own.
Thanks for sharing #LetKidsBeKids
He did work hard, he concentrates on his creations! Thanks for hosting x
hahahaha this made me laugh! i think it’s lovely and so unusual! i love how creative kids get and how their minds run free when they are creating their masterpieces. Lovely pictures, your son is adorable x #LetKidsBeKids
Ah, thank you. He is cute!x
It’s the thought that counts! I guess it should read inside, “I only have eyes for you…”!
That’d be perfect! Thanks x
It’s actually quite cute, and the best part is that Boo loved it!
Very true, it means a lot to her 🙂
To me it says a very clear…
‘eye’ love you!
hahaha CREEPY! x
Tis creepy!! xx
haha, this is brilliant – I might make something similar for my husband! 😉
Go for it!
He only has eyes for Boo!
Exactly!
Haha got to love googley eyes!! #letkidsbekids
Oh yes, they are the best!
Awww, how sweet! Now how long before they are fighting again 😉
They actually don’t , it’s odd!
This is hilarious! I wonder what was going through his little mind what his thought process was! He he!!
Thanks for linking up to #ToddlerApprovedTuesday, sorry I am so late in commenting xx
Who knows?! Thanks x
