We’ve been doing a lot of work out in our back garden lately. So, the children have also been out there ‘helping’! They both love going outside, and Little Man can actually only be lured back inside with the promise of food!
Boo’s enjoyed planting sunflower seeds with her auntie…
and tending to her own mini-garden…
Little Man has spent a fair bit of time playing with his mud-pie kitchen. Mud and kitchen utensils are a perfect mix for toddlers 🙂
And they’ve generally been playing, balls, golf, running about, jumping, exploring, finding earth worms and ladybirds – you name it, they’ve been doing it!
It’s nice to have this glimpse of summer. Last year, Little Man was too young to be racing about the garden, whereas this year, I’m seeing plenty of al fresco lunches, paddling pool action, tuff spot adventures and listening to them both playing and squealing with delight whilst I tend my newly landscaped garden. It’s also the last summer that we’ll have like this, as Boo starts school in September. Yes, I know she’ll have after school and holidays and weekends, but it’s not the same as seemingly endless days together, so we will be making it count out there.
They look like they are having lots of fun. The photograph where they are holding hands is precious! I love playing in the garden with my little one letting off steam. Hope you have a lovely weekend 🙂
They love it out there! Thanks, and you x
Aww lovely post and gorgeous shots of them having so much fun out there. Love the shot of them walking together holding hands, adorable! Hopefully you’ll have a lovely summer altogether!! Xx #countrykids
I’m quite sure we will 🙂 Thanks very much x
Gorgeous photos, love that Boo has her own little patch, and adore the mud pie kitchen! Gardening is so good for the soul, and a wonderful thing to involve the kids in. I’m going to be doing some planing with M this weekend, really looking forward to it xx

What fun. I can sense the sadness as September approaches for you 🙁 There is another way you know…
I know, thanks, and it has been considered. Writing a blog post on it, in fact!
What a great garden you’ve got for kids! We’re getting our boy to help us now, it’s great fun growing things with them.
Thank you. Yes, the 4yo loves seeing things growing 🙂

You cannot go wrong with a mud pie!
Love that last photo. A priceless one. Your garden is so pretty and you have this great toys that my son wants haha. Maybe you should invite him for tea. He is on ly lap now and he wants me to buy him a playhouse =P #countrykids
Oh no, I didn’t mean to spark him nagging for a playhouse!! We were lucky as friends were throwing that one out so gave it to us :)x
Looks like you had a lot of fun. There definitely is something about summer. Don’t you find the kids are just so much more content pottering about outside than they ever are inside? I know mine is!
They love it out there!
Your children are going to have such an amazing Summer! LP is constantly off exploring our garden but Little Man is still a bit small – Next summer he’ll have a great time! x
Yes, it does make a big difference that year, when they’re so small. But next year – he’ll be off! x
Oh gosh, you’ve just made me realise that this is our last summer of fun without school too – eek!! #CounytryKids
Oh, sorry! It feels so sad 🙁
Great fun in the garden. So wish we had this kind of space.
It’s great to be able to open the back doors and set them free!
Outdoors is fabulous for them isn’t it! To explore, be curious and just have copious amounts of fun! Gorgeous photos! #countrykids

The kids love it!
I love the idea of a mud kitchen but not in our garden, I am far too anti mess for that! I like controlled mess I can clean up! #letkidsbekids
Let them run free!
