The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz

In The Book Review & Competition

Today I want to share with you a product from In The Book. In The Book got in touch with me recently inviting me to review one of their personalised children’s books and I knew it was a invitation that I could not refuse! Read on for my review, and a competition giving you the chance to win your own personalised book.

The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz

In The Book

In The Book have hundreds of personalised children’s books available, from baby books to books for teens, from classics to activity books. They have ranges from brands such as Disney, Marvel and Beatrix Potter, along with fairy tales and special occasions books.

They love to encourage children to read and get lost in their own stories.

As they say themselves:

“We put magic into the story by writing your child into the adventure as it unfolds. Seeing their name woven into the story, the illustrations, and of course, on the cover, kindles their natural curiosity and helps children to relate to the book, and ultimately grow as a reader and an individual.”

There are so many options available, I got a bit overwhelmed on the website! I could imagine my kids liking so many of the titles available, it was tricky to narrow the choices down, even with the many menus set up to help me to do just that.

In the end, I decided to go for a classic novel for my daughter. My son has been treated recently when we got him this personalised football book, so it felt like it was my girl’s turn.

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz Personalised Book

We opted for The Wonderful Wizard of Oz personalised book, as this is one of my daughter’s favourite classic reads.

Having finally decided, the website was very user friendly to navigate around and make selections.

The ordering and selection process was super easy and it was fun to choose the personalised aspects.

There is a simple drop-down menu giving you the option to personalise the main characters. In this case, we have Dorothy, Toto (you know Herbie has to be involved!), the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, the Cowardly Lion and then the Wicked Witch of the West.

After selecting the characters names, there is a box to add a personal message to the inside cover and then the option of selecting a presentation box.

The book arrived in a lovely presentation box, which added that extra special touch to the gift.

It is a colourful hardback book, with a classic cover. On the inside cover, there is a dedication and personalised message.

Throughout the book, just at a glance, you can spot the main character’s name on practically every page. My daughter’s name pops up everywhere!

There are then all of those other characters that you are able to rename, making it really come alive as your child is surrounded by familiar friends and family in their very own tale together.

Herbie, for example, is loving his Toto life…

In The Book personalised childrens book

Our chosen book is around 130 pages long and printed on quality thick paper. As it’s a classic novel, it is not illustrated. This suits my daughter, as she usually reads YA fiction so no longer expects pictures in her books. However, the vast majority of children’s books available are illustrated, making them perfect for younger readers.

These books are fun and unique gifts. I do think there is something magical about seeing your own name in print, and these books make that happen for your children.

Personalised children’s books are gifts to be treasured.
