Little Man is 12 today! 12!
When I look back on these photos, I don’t know where the years have gone.
My shy boy has gone, my 12 year old has a quiet confidence about him that gives him an air of calm and maturity.
My son is bright, loyal, sporty, kind, hard working, funny and loving.
He does well at school and he finished primary school on a high with a terrific school report and near perfect SATs scores. He really couldn’t have done more there, and he deserved the praise and results he received, he worked hard for them.
He’ll be starting at his secondary school tomorrow, first day in Year 7, it’ll be a big day.
He’s ready for it, it’s going to be quite the adventure.
Sport still dominates here, a lot of our time revolves around getting him to sporting activities and events. And when he’s not playing, he’ll be watching, reading or talking about sport.
At 12, Little Man loves cricket, gaming, pizza, Herbie, LA Dodgers, trying new drinks, football, Friends, mac & cheese, basketball, YouTube, Aston Villa, chocolate fudge cake, The Big Bang Theory, his friends, Imagine Dragons and going to any sporting event.
He’s at his happiest spending a day playing sport, then watching sport, whilst drinking a new drink he’s discovered and getting ready for mac and cheese for dinner!
He’s made some great friends at primary school, and his cricket and football teams, and his best friend has been his best friend since they were at nursery. From 3 years old to 12 years old, and they are as close as ever. And they’d both be happy playing sport, watching sport, trying new drinks and eating mac and cheese together, maybe that’s why they’re such good friends?!
Today he’ll have his grandparents come over for birthday cake, he’ll want to pop to the shops to spend some of his birthday money and then he’ll choose his favourite takeaway for dinner and a movie night. In a few days time, he’s off to a T20 cricket match with his friend who’ll then sleep over and then we’re all off to Sixes and lunch. Celebrating in cricket style!
Happy birthday, Little Man. Love you loads.
