I’m linking up with What’s the Story? today and sharing with you one of my all-time favourite photos…
This is my brother, and famed horrifying serial killer Hannibal Lecter. And does he tremble in his wake? No, he looks ridiculously chipper and cheerful to be photographed with him!
We took this when the husband and I went to LA with my brother and his wife, for the first few days of their honeymoon a few years back (they then went on to Tonga, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore without us, so don’t fret, they had privacy!) It was a fabulous three days that I’m certain we’ll all remember for as long as we live – breakfasting on Santa Monica pier, shopping at The Grove, a Warner Studios Bros tour and taking in the sights of Hollywood, which is where we were here. The waxworks movie museum had plenty of characters and cast to be photographed with, so we have plenty more (I do like one of myself standing happily with the Wicked Witch of the West :-)), but this one just tickled me. Just look at the joy on his face to be in such close proximity with a murderer…..! And of course, it brings back so many happy memories. We had fun, and after our three days together, the husband and I went on to a road trip around California and popped over the border to Las Vegas – oh, those were the days… 😉
Brilliant! Those wax works do look so realistic. Any chance of getting a look at the picture of you with the wicked witch…?
They were really good. Loads of different characters to be photographed with. I’ll pop over to Twitter & share my photo…!
Sounds like a fun trip. Not sure I’d want to be standing that close to Hannibal Lector, even if he was just a waxwork.
It was brilliant, thanks 🙂 Of course you wouldn’t – my brother’s odd!!
Glad you had a fun time though that photo does make me shudder!
Yes, my little brother can have that affect on people…..!
Hahaha! He really does look like he’s laughing – almost hysterically! Perhaps it’s fear really! Sounds like a great trip!
There was no fear there! Just delight to be strolling on holiday on a sunny day, I think 🙂 Great holiday!
What a brilliant photo of your brother with Hannibal Lecter! I’m not surprised it’s one of your favourites. It sounds like you had the most wonderful trip, what awesome places to go to. Thank you for sharing with #whatsthestory
Thank you – it makes me giggle every time! It was a fab holiday. Thanks for hosting x
Fantastic picture! I love driving around California – and you’re so right, those were the days 😉 x
They so were! Footloose & fancy free ;-)! Thank you x
It sounds like you had a great time, I can see why you like the photo so much! I also laughed out loud at your ‘privacy’ comment…just for those who were wondering!
It’s a fab photo, & thought I’d best allay any concerns..!
My dream holiday would be to take a road trip in America. I’m very jealous!
I’d highly recommend it – it was fabulous! Only 2 weeks, so managed LA, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, San Diego & the OC. Could easily spend another month seeing so much more…one day…!
I love this photo, and I can understand why you love it so much too, so many happy memories
Yes, there are lovely memories all wrapped up in that photo & his ridiculous smile!! Thank you 🙂
Sounds like you had a fantastic time! Some wonderful memories.
Lovely reading.
