Happy birthday to my beautiful girl, 12 today. And how that time has flown!
On the one hand, I can’t quite believe that my baby girl is 12 today, it seems so grown up. And yet on the other, I can see how much older she looks these days, the changes in her as she adjusts to her new life at secondary school.
Boo made me a mum. She brought me such happiness as a baby and toddler that I was determined to carve out a life and a business at home so I could always be here for her.
As she has grown, she has only made me happier and more proud. I see the person that she is becoming and I can only smile and cheer her on.
Boo is easy going, unless there’s any sort of minor injury to her person and then it is high drama! She is always in motion, usually singing, rarely still. Unless she has a book in hand, and then the outside world can cease to exist. She misses nothing, she takes everything in and has a memory like no other! She is bright, she is confident and she is my little thrill-seeker. And most of all, she is kind. She is the most empathetic person I know and she does what she can to ensure people around her are comfortable and content.
School life is in a transition period at the moment, as she adjusts to a new school, new friends and new routines. Oh, and much more homework! She’s finding her feet there and I look forward to seeing her thrive.
At 12, Boo wants to be an author or a teacher. She loves Friends, music, Herbie, cuddly toys, Chinese food, books, the theatre, cycling, gaming and roller-coasters.
For her birthday, we had a fun family day out yesterday and then time with her baby cousin, whom she adores! Today she wants to go into Birmingham on a shopping trip and to have a Five Guys for lunch, before seeing her grandparents to celebrate with birthday cake.
Happy birthday, Boo. I love you to the moon and back.
