These last few weeks have been all about sunny days, garden fun and my two playing along with each other more than ever, with no preschool for Boo.
Little Man is now 23 months old, and Boo is 4 years and 10 months. Their relationship is wonderful to watch. Yes, there is the odd scream and squabble, but it tends to be over within seconds, invariably put behind them with a sorry (or ‘warry’ from Little Man) and a cuddle. And off they go again, Boo guiding (read: bossing) Little Man, and Little Man sometimes adoringly following her, sometimes studiously ignoring her, either way, she continues blithely onwards and both are content. There is a lot more imaginary play in their games now, as Little Man grasps the concept well and enjoys it, so there are lots of giggles and it really does keep his attention. And then with the great weather we’ve been having, they’ve been loving being outside, on gorgeous days out..
Or just playing in the back garden..
My kids are so happy running free outside. Give them a huge lawn and they have to run on it. Give them a play area and they’re in their element! And on a warm day, they’re desperate to get out into the garden and play, so we’ve had the tuff spot out, toys on the blanket, trampolining, the sandpit, messy play, bug hunts, and of course, ice lollies a plenty! We’ve still another few weeks before Boo starts school, and we plan to make the most of them. School holidays are all about siblings having fun, I think.
you’ve managed to capture some wonderful outdoor photos, love the skipping one. such lovely children #countrykids
Thanks, Chantelle x
Gorgeous pics. Kids and the outdoors is just the perfect combination,. Lovely to see them playing together, must be lovely to watch x
It is lovely, thanks, even the chaos and the noise levels! x
I have exactly 2 years between my daughter and one of my sons, and it’s lovely to see how they’ve always been very close and got on really well. Gorgeous photo’s 🙂
They’re just little playmates, aren’t they? Mine are 2 yrs, 11 months apart, just the same as my little brother and I, and we still get on well!
Oh I just love the skipping photo! My little ones are the same, give them a big space to run in and they are so happy. #CountryKids
It’s all they need!
School holidays are too short! I want to watch my two play out in the garden all the time. Lovely pics and I like their attitude 🙂
Me, too. The time is flying by. Thank you 🙂
Aww! They are so sweet together!!
Gorgeous photos!
Enjoy the rest of the holidays….They go over too quickly x
Thanks, Kim x
I love the photo of them running and skipping, perfectly captured! They always look happy together (even though I’m sure they have their moments!) Must be nice to see them play together more and more xx
They are happy together, fortunately! There’s the odd shouting screaming moments, but they’re short lived – phew! It’s great to see their play develop x
Such lovely photos of sibling harmony! Summer holidays are all about having great fun with family and spending time outdoors. Thanks for linking up and sharing with Country Kids.
It’s lovely to see them enjoying their time together – little partners in crime! Thanks for hosting x
Isn’t this time of year just wonderful for watching them play and have fun together? Lovely photographs 🙂
It’s perfect, I’m loving it. Thank you x
I always find parenting so much easier outdoors! Your photos are beautiful and I am so looking forward to this stage with our kids where they can just run and play together x
Yes, the space to let them run! It’ll be here soon enough, I’m sure! Thank you x
You are so lucky to have children that love each other so much and want to be friends. It will stand them in good stead for the future!
Thanks, Holly. I’m hoping it’ll last! x
Oh I’m with you all the way, the summer is definitely for getting outside and running around – it looks like your two have been making the most of all our lovely sunshine and I love the picture of them running around after each other!
Ye, they make the most of every opportunity! Thank you 🙂
I love the way that younger siblings follow and watch the older one, that shines through in these photos Jocelyn. Summer looks like a lot of fun for you all x
Oh yes, always following, and chasing! Thank you x
You’re so right – holidays are all about siblings. They have so little time in term time, with school and different after school clubs and playdates and so on – the holidays are a brilliant time for them to just enjoy each other. Here’s to the next three weeks!
My daughter’s yet to start school, she starts in September, so I’m very aware of these ‘last’ 3 weeks!
Loved the third photo the most 🙂 Very cute XX
Ah, thanks very much, Lynda. They were totally absorbed there! xx
Gorgeous pics. They sound similar to my two at the moment, they have the odd disagreement but usually sort it out fairly quickly, long may it last! x
Thank you. Oh yes, let’s hope it continues! x
So true, the summer holidays are all about siblings and re establishing the connection between them, wonderful photos
Thanks very much. It’s lovely to see.
Their relationship is always lovely to witness =) #countrykids
