As the kids get older, they seem to get closer and closer. There’s no mistaking that Boo is the older child, not simply because she just is, but because of the way that their relationship works. She looks out for her little brother, she likes to take care of him, she sacrifices things to make him happy. I should point out that I don’t expect any of this from her, especially the sacrificing part, but it makes her so happy to do things for him. And it makes Little Man so happy to receive them – yes, that’s the dynamic!
As we are now well into the summer term, I’d say that they are both ready for the long summer break and the move up to the next school year. It’s that time of year when everything seems to be winding down, and school days are about fun and consolidation now. School trips and sports days are on the horizon and I do think that before we know it, they will be home for 6 weeks. Herbie will be in his element!
They are enjoying the warmer weather, and have spent a lot of time outside recently. They like to play out there after school and our weekend adventures are usually about exploring National Trust parklands and grounds. All with the dog involved, of course. He rarely leaves their sides and if they are playing outside, he wants in on the game.
These photos were taken at the beautiful Charlecote Park…
Boo aged 9 years and 8 months old, Little Man aged 6 years and 9 months old. Love them.
