Siblings September 2015

The seasons are changing yet again, and my girl is back to school, now in year 1. The school holidays were over way too quickly for my liking.

Little Man’s grown up a lot over the summer, turning three a couple of weeks ago. Over the holidays we spent time catching up with friends and I saw again how well my two play with each other, with Boo often looking out for Little Man, especially when they’re playing with her school friends as she ensures he’s looked after then. It’s lovely to see, as she wades in to ‘save’ him, though I should point out her friends are very nice! Little Man seems so much older all of a sudden. He often drives the play and activities now, invariably some sort of Star Wars or superhero game and imaginary world that they both get caught up in. They would play with each other all day long, and the house seems so quiet now that Boo’s away from us all day. Though as soon as she returns, chaos ensues as the siblings are reunited.

Here’s a few captured moments of them together over the last month…

My two children. No longer babies, not even toddlers, growing up side by side, always with the knowledge that they’ve got each other’s back.

  1. This is such a beautiful post.
I’ve always thought that the best thing a child can be given – if it’s possible – after love and time, is a sibling.
    Emma 🙂

  2. Such gorgeous photos Jocelyn – love the one on the seesaw and the last one. Little Man really seems to have grown up over the summer and how lovely that he is also starting to drive imaginary play when they are together. Your two always sound like they have the most wonderful bond and it really shines through in your photos. Beautiful. 🙂

    1. Thank you. He really has, I’m not sure where my little toddler has gone! They are so close and play so happily with each other, lovely that that shines through in the photos x

  3. They are so so cute together and I love reading about their bond, so close and protective. I always hope Z will make just as special a brother as your big girl makes a sister 🙂

    1. I know, what’s going on?! Little Man’s come on so much lately and seems so old all of a sudden. Boo’s always looking out for her brother 🙂 xx

  4. I love that too-knowing they have each other’s back. I see it especially now that my youngest has started school-his big sister is looking out for him and it makes me so happy and proud. Little Man is growing up-it was so lovely to see him and chat with him about Star Wars the other day 🙂 xx

  5. Lovely shots, and it’s so nice to see how they are playing together so beautifully. The age gap between mine is 3 1/2 years, so for the biggest part of last year Becky has been playing on her own (or with us) and not so much with her brother, but this is now changing as he is developing and becoming more or a play buddy for her. I love it. It’s so nice when siblings have that bond and can play with each other beautifully. x

  6. Goodness your two really do look so alike it’s so cute!!
I love the picture of them on the see saw its gorgeous!
It must be tough when one goes back to school, I can already imagine it with Arthur and he doesn’t start for another year!!
So lovely that your little lady looks after her brother so well and it’s amazing that she ensures he’s looked after when her friends are around, I’d imagine many kids forget about their siblings when friends arrive!! X

  7. Oh my goodness, your last words about them growing side by side and having each other’s backs made me feel a bit teary. It’s so lovely that siblings get to grow up with and share their childhoods with. Such lovely moments in your photos this month; adorable. x
