Today I am delighted to be bringing you a competition in partnership with the team over at Treads shoes. One of my readers will be winning a pair of Treads school shoes of their choice, just in time for back to school (we hope there’s a back to school!).
If you’ve not heard of Treads shoes before, then let me tell you that I have been a fan for a while now. We worked with Treads back in 2018 when they sent over a pair of shoes for Little Man to try. Go check out my original review of them, their Madrid design of shoe, as I explain all of the features and things I was impressed by. The main points to note, as a parent of two school aged kids, is that the shoes come with a 12 months indestructible guarantee, free standard delivery and free returns. They are easy to size from the guidelines on the website and there are a range of styles available to suit boys and girls.
Let me tell you that when Treads got in touch a couple of weeks ago, it was very well-timed. I’d just ordered in all the kids’ new uniforms for September and had started looking at school shoes. I wanted to wait a little longer in case they grew a little more, and I was then planning on getting Little Man a pair of Treads again. These shoes have impressed me so much, I can’t imagine buying his school shoes anywhere else now.
He wore his Treads shoes from the start of September 2018, his Year 1 and they lasted him the entire school year, not a mark on them. From September 2019, his Year 2, I made the mistake of picking up some shoes as we were shopping in an outlet centre, he liked the look of them and they were a decent brand. Well, within that first term they had a hole in the sole and were looking very tatty. I was about to order some more Treads when the Husband dug out the old ones from the back of Little Man’s wardrobe and took the insole out (I’ll explain more about that in a moment). They then fit him and he carried on wearing them until the school’s closed a few months ago. They still look good today, they are still going strong and it is looking as though they are indeed indestructible! He only needs new ones now as his feet have grown.
So let me loop back to that thing about the insoles. Treads shoes are ordered in sizes that allow them to grow half a size and still fit. The insole is simply removed to give extra room. In Little Man’s case, this time we have ordered shoe size 2 1/2 to 3 and I fully expect them to see him through all of Year 3 comfortably, still looking smart, and they may well make their way into Year 4, growth spurts dependent. They really are that good, they have truly impressed me.
This time around we’ve opted for their London design…
I really like this style, I think they look smart and durable and Little Man tells me that they are comfortable to wear. That’s the other thing that struck me last time, they didn’t seem to need wearing in, they were comfortable from day one of wearing them.
Fingers crossed that these will last as well as the last ones, I do believe that they will.
