Hello and welcome to Word of the Week.
If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.
My word of the week this week is:
It feels as though this week’s flown by in a blur! It’s been full of appointments, and booking loads of meet ups and activities into my planner. Much of it is Christmas-related, and this week has seen me getting my cards out, putting the decorations up, wrapping all of the presents and I’ve also bought in a few extra bits for hosting Christmas.
The kids are getting excited as we saw Santa at the weekend, got the tree up and they went Christmas shopping with the Husband to buy me a few things. They are prepared!
I’ve been getting Little Man prepared for starting nursery in the new year, so we’ve been chatting about that, labelling up his clothes and his settling in sessions are booked in for next week. Fingers crossed this all goes better than when we attempted this in the summer.
I’ve been preparing to see properly! Yes, I got my eyes tested over the weekend and I’ve some new glasses on the way so I’m hoping to have those soon. My eyesight is terrible anyway (I even get free eye tests as I’m so, so short sighted) and I noticed recently that I was squinting a little, so I’m pleased to have that out of the way and am sort of looking forward to me new glasses. ‘Sort of’ because I look forward to a change and improved vision, but know that for the first few days the adjustment will make me feel a bit sick, but I need to work through that bit!
I’ve been preparing for the next couple of weeks to ensure we’re all set to enjoy the festivities. I’ve consulted my planner more than ever this week as it is now getting very busy for the next fortnight, with activities at school, play dates and my own studies dominating it, and then I’ve my blog calendar, too, which is showing no signs of emptying though I’m determined it will as I plan to take a break over the holidays. I will get there, I will!
What about you? What one word sums up your week best?
Please grab the badge, link up and share.
Linky opens at 6.30am Friday, to midnight on Sunday.
You sound so very organised!! Brilliant. I have wrapped most but got all the food to buy and cards to write. It is a lovely time. Glad you can see so much better. I think I should be asking Santa for a planner!! xx #wotw Thanks for hosting x
Yes, get a planner! x
Wow your week has been fun packed! We do all our christmas preparations in November so that December is relaxing and enjoyable. Only festive activities each Sunday! I hope the new glasses don’t cause you too much stress and absolutely the settle in days x #wotw
Thank you, here’s hoping they’ll be fine x
Busy, busy times but you’re so organised, you sound like you’re breezing through it all!
Hope the new glasses don’t cause too much hassle as you get used to them and that the nursery taster sessions have been okay.
Have a lovely weekend x
I do like to be organised! Thanks you, you, too x
What a busy week you’ve had and I’m sure your planner has been an essential item throughout! It is lovely to be making preparations for Christmas and getting everything ready. Good luck with Little Man starting nursery and with the adjustment to your new glasses. Thanks for hosting #WotW and hope you all have a lovely weekend 🙂
The planner helps! Thanks x
Sounds like a good, if busy, week! They do seem to be flying by at the mo don’t they? Hope Little Man’s settling in sessions go well and the new glasses don’t take too much adjusting to! Xx
Thank you very much – I’ll report back! x
Great word – and yes so much to do, in fact it was almost my #wotw too – thanks for hosting x
It’s that time of year! x
It sounds like you are really prepared. I wish I was just that little bit further down the line with my planning – I had such hopes for last week and I just don’t know what happened!
Oh, new glasses, huh?! I know when I got mine it did feel funny for a few days getting used to them – and that was just for reading! I hope the adjustment doesn’t take the shine off your preparations
Here’s to the countdown to Christmas
xx
I like to be! They do tend to take a while, so hoping it’s not too bad this time around, thanks x
Oh my that is a lot of preparation! However I’m sure that with all your well thought out planning that you’ll be fine. Gosh how sad and yet exciting it must be preparing the Little Man for nursery must be. How is he taking it? Glad to see you have also taken the time to look after yourself.xx #wotw
Yes, all seems to be in hand! I’m hoping he’ll be OK, but as it went badly last time, we’ll wait and see…! x

A very busy week for you then 🙂
Yep! x
You sound nicely organised. It’s great to get the decorations up for the children and start thinking about Christmas. Good luck with the nursery,I hope it goes well. x
Thank you, hoping so x
It sounds like you have a lot planned and have had a very busy time of it!
I really need to get my eyes tested….I am supposed to wear glasses for watching TV and being on the laptop but I’ve not worn them in about a year. In fact I don’t even know where they are. Oops.
Perhaps you don’t need them too much then?! x
You sound so organised, I tend to go with the flow a bit which has its perils as I am always double booking. But I feel I am a little nearer that I was thank goodness. I most definitely need to be more organised next year x
Ah, I tend to be ultra organised with things like this! x
This looks like a really exciting linky! I’m already really inspired by using this as a post prompt and looking forward to joining you next week 🙂 Sounds like you have a lot on your plate at the moment, but I’m sure your preparation will pay off.
Thanks very much! Be lovely to have you joining in 🙂
