Word of the Week 13/7/18

Hello and welcome to Word of the Week!

If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.

My word of the week this week is:

This week I feel that I have been fully present. I have immersed myself in each day, each moment and I feel better for it.

I have been out and about with family and friends and it’s really made a difference. I have stopped worrying over my Open University results as they draw ever closer, as I am too busy to think about them. I have also found my mojo is slowly creeping back as I’ve got a few more projects in the pipeline here on the blog and I have had bursts of enthusiasm and productivity around it.

I have concentrated on the here and now and on enjoying friendships and connections. Such simple things, but being present and in the moment has grounded me this week and made it an enjoyable one.

On another play on the word, Little Man’s presents are all sorted now, so the kids can break up next week without me trying to figure out how I can sneak gifts into the house whilst they’re around!

What about you? What one word sums up your week best?

Please grab the badge, link up and share…

Linky opens at 6.30am Friday, to midnight on Sunday.

  1. This is something I strive for! I’m always getting caught up in my own thoughts. Thank you for bringing my attention to it!

(Jocelyn, you had asked for my twitter handle last week. I’m not quite set up on social media yet, but I’ll get this sorted soon!)

    1. It’s hard to do, it’s a rare week for me to be able to do it! And thanks for letting me know, I’ll keep my eye out for it.

  2. It sounds like you are feeling much more positive this week. Sometimes you just need to get out and be with people and keep yourself busy. Well done on getting prepared for little man’s birthday. Have a lovely weekend x

    1. I think you’re right, it’s been lovely getting out more and catching up with people. Yes, all set now, thanks x

  3. It sounds like being in the present has helped you loads. I try to practice it as much as possible, it’s never good to focus on the past or worry about the future but we do it way too often. I know what you mean about the presents for your Little Man, all my young kids have birthdays in the summer holidays. Due to some carelessness on my behalf I managed to book a holiday which means we’ll be coming home on Star’s birthday! Most presents are already bought but I’ve promised them a joint visit to Smyths to spend some birthday money too.
    Thanks for hosting x

    1. Ah, nothing beats a visit to Smyths, money in hand! My son loves it there! Hope your birthdays all go well then x
