Word of the Week 4/12/15

Hello and welcome to Word of the Week.

If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.

My word of the week this week is:

countdown

It has started!

The Advent calendars are out, Marty our elf is with us once more, along with Elfie’s Christmas letters this year and this weekend will see us visiting Santa and putting up our Christmas decorations.

My Christmas shopping is done, my cards are written and about to be posted, the food shop is booked in, so I just have the ‘joy’ of wrapping left to do and I can then relax and enjoy the countdown with the kids.

Boo’s got her Christmas fair today, her Christmas lunch at school next week, with a trip to the panto, a carol concert and a party the following week. Little Man and I have got a ticket to his playgroup Christmas party and a few festive trips lined up along with some crafting at home.

It’s December so it is now all go and the children are loving it, which means that I am, too.

What about you? What one word sums up your week best?

Please grab the badge, link up and share.

Linky opens at 6.30am Friday, to midnight on Sunday.

  1. I feel I am sooo busy at the moment generally I need to get in the spirit a bit more! We have the tree up and our calendars though 🙂 Got some present wrapping to crack on with. Enjoy your countdown xx Thanks for hosting x

  2. Hi Jocelyn, December is an exciting (and busy) month, especially when you have younger children, who get caught up in all the magic of Christmas. I bet school Christmas dinners and and Christmas parties are so much better now than they were when we were at school!

And as always thank you for hosting!

    xx

  3. Countdown is a good word! the kids are definitely getting excited. I admit I have yet to find my Christmas spirit..but your week sounds fabulous 🙂

  5. The countdown is definitely on isn’t it! Great word Olivia has been counting down to counting down on the advent calendar! She is loving them! Especially my yankee one but I am so unorganised I wish I was like you all done and ready to go x

  6. I do love the countdown to Christmas in December and it sounds like you have a lot of things to look forward to in the run-up to Christmas. I’m very impressed that you’ve got all your cards written and the shopping all done – I never quite manage to get those ticked off before mid-December. Thanks for hosting #WotW and hope you have a fun weekend putting the Christmas decorations up 🙂

  7. Yes the start of a chaotic but fun month, would you believe Santa arrived in a Helicopter at Joe’s School fair ha ha. But exiting times ahead, I love the festive season its so special, lets just hope al this rain stops, and we get a bit of frost and snow x

  8. December is such a fun month, once you get everything organised and I’m not quite as organised as you – getting there, tho!
I’m aiming for this time next week to be more ‘ready’ for Christmas and from then on be able to sit back and enjoy it!
    Thnx for hosting, as always
    xx

  9. Wow, it does sound like you are organised! I thought I was doing well, but definitely not as good as you. It’s nice to have our elf back again, I bet your children are loving your elf again too. x
