Hello and welcome to Word of the Week.
If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.
My word of the week this week is:
Last Friday saw us visiting Thomasland, all decorated in a Halloween theme to watch their Fireworks Spectacular. The kids loved it! They then enjoyed pumpkin carving with their dad on Saturday, and watching Strictly Come Dancing’s Halloween show – they do love to dance about to that programme! Since the weekend, there have of course been fireworks going off every evening, culminating in us watching plenty of them last night. I am sure there’ll be more to come this weekend, too.
I’ve been doing a little Christmas shopping and Boo and I have popped and bought our Christmas crackers, as she was keen to choose some. Blog-wise, things are all about Christmas. Amongst other things this week, I’ve had Christmas cards and wrap arrive, a beautiful Christmas star decoration (which you can win if you pop over to yesterday’s post), I’ve been planning a new Christmas tradition for a post next week, and I’ve had plenty of stationery arriving for my upcoming Ultimate Stationery Gift Guide.
So a week with Halloween, Bonfire Night and Christmas, ‘seasonal’ seems to cover it best.
What about you? What one word sums up your week best?
Please grab the badge, link up and share.
Linky opens at 6.30am Friday, to midnight on Sunday.
Lovely word for your week!
Halloween at Thomas Land sounded great. I thought of you and Boo when I walked past the Smiggle stationery shop and saw that they do an advent calendar, it looked fab.
Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for hosting x
It’s been good! Ah yes, we had that calendar last year 🙂 x
Seasonal sounds like the perfect word for your week with the focus on three different seasonal events all in one week. Love the sound of Halloween at Thomasland. We loved the Halloween Strictly show as well – although it was constantly interrupted by trick-or-treaters! Sounds like you are a lot more organised that I am on the Christmas front – I’ve yet to start really thinking about it. Maybe next week! Hope you have a lovely weekend and thank you for hosting #WotW 🙂
We had no trick or treaters, much to Boo’s disappointment! We never do. Ah, it’s the blog stuff all rolling in making me think about it! x
This post just makes me so excited! This is the best time of year! I hope you all have a fab time getting ready for Christmas xx #wotw
It’s all so exciting! x
That’s a great word – and yes seasonal is all over the place right now isn’t it? Have a fab time and thanks for hosting x
We’re in the middle of it all! Thanks x
Seasonal is great. I love these seasons. Sounds like the fireworks were fantastic. We love watching strictly come dancing together too and they enjoyed the halloween one as well. x
They were brilliant! It’s a fun time of year x
I refuse to think about Christmas until December! But then I don’t have to entertain and organise for little ones anymore so I can stick my head in the sand for a lot longer than most!
Ah yes, we’re hosting Christmas this year and the kids are giving me lists!

Lovely word and a lovely week by the sound of it 🙂
Yes, it has been, thank you!
Hi Jocelyn, it sounds as if your two have had a wonderfully fun week with Halloween and fireworks.I can’t believe the speed in which everything Christmasy has appeared, but it will be upon us before you know it. Time to get the ‘snow’ falling on the blog!
Thank you for hosting.
xx
They’ve loved it! They are eager to see more fireworks out the window tonight, too! It’s flying by, Christmas in no time..! x
I do love this time of year….It is such fun.
It sounds like you have had a great week.
It is, loads going on! It’s been fun 🙂
Great word choice. I love the fact your little ones went to Thomasland and saw the fireworks. My daughter isn’t keen on noise from a hair dryer so I was worried about fireworks. Fortunately, the only ones she saw were on tv and she was more intrigued than scared.
They loved it, though this was their first display as they’ve not been keen on loud noises either. Watching out of the window suits them just fine!
Such a lovely word to sum it all up, although I must admit when you say seasonal I automatically think about Christmas. #wotw
Ah well, it is that time of year x
It’s a lovely word because it’s a lovely time of the year, lots of traditions and lots to look forward to. I do like this time of year, there’s something cozy about it, and I also know the annual school Xmas shows are just around the corner. Always priceless!
Have a lovely week xx
It’s busy and cosy and lots to look forward to. Fun! X
Seasonal is a great word. Although I hate the weather this time of year I do love all the things that happen. The boys love Halloween and dressing up, they’ve had a great time watching fireworks, and before long we’ll be writing letters to Santa! 🙂
Oh, the weather is annoying me, too! everything else is lovely 🙂
As I type this there is a Christmas advert on! it has hit us, boom. I love Christmas but with all that has been going on I was just not ready for it, you sound quite organised over there x
Yep! It’s everywhere all of a sudden! X
My two would love Thomas Land! They also love dancing around to Strictly too – whenever the scores are announced G always shouts “8!” and if they get anything less than an 8 she will get quite angry and say “Noooooo! 8! 8! 8!”
Thanks for hosting #Wotw xxx
Oh, Thomasland is brilliant! Ha ha, a generous scorer! X
Wow, a lot of events and new exciting nothings to look forward too. Sounds amazing Thomasland and I shall be looking forward to your stationary guide post X #wotw
It was fab, thanks. Oh, I’m so looking forward to sharing it! x
What a great word, and what a lovely week. I love this time of year there just seems to be so much to look forward too. I love December even more now that Boo has her birthday in the middle of it
Oh yes, lots for you to look forward to!
