Hello and welcome to Word of the Week!
If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.
My word of the week this week is:
I am usually in!
This week I have noticed how much I have been out. I tend to do the school runs, and then other than the odd errand, I am home during the day either working or studying. But this week I have been out more than I’ve been in.
There were the less interesting things luring me out, like dental appointments and popping to the post office, but then most of it was fun.
I met up with a good friend for a lovely few hours, mixing shopping with chatting, which was great. The Husband had a rare week day off work so we went to the cinema together (loved Thor:Ragnarok!) and had a bite to eat before getting back for the kids.
I also spent the day at my brother’s new coffee shop that is opening this weekend. It’s looking really good and I love that he’s doing this, something he has wanted to do for so long. The kids had a blast pretending to work there, I have had to point out that they can’t operate the till once he’s open and customers are in there! Do go see him if you’re out and about in Worcester.
I also have my eye on going ‘out out’ in a couple of weeks to a friend’s birthday party. I had a little dig through my wardrobe and found a black dress that I think I wore once, many years ago now, in the pre-kids era, and it fits perfectly so I am all set. Looking forward to a good night out and the chance to dress up a bit.
Of course all of this ‘out’ has meant some things have had to give. So next week I really need to be in and buried in my study books once more!
What about you? What one word sums up your week best?
Please grab the badge, link up and share…

Linky opens at 6.30am Friday, to midnight on Sunday.
Sounds like it has been a lovely week. Catching up with friends is always nice and glad you enjoyed your cinema trip with your hubby too. Good luck to your brother with his new coffee shop and hope the opening goes well. Thanks for hosting #WotW
It’s been good, flown by! Thanks x
Sometimes it’s nice to have a week where you are busy, out and about doing things and having fun. When you are studying it takes up so much of your time that there is rarely any left to go out.
Thanks for hosting x
Yes, it’s been a nice break, and back to it now! x

Thanks, it has been fun x
How exciting! Wishing your brother all the luck with his new coffee shop. I bet the children enjoyed themselves playing shop. Good for you taking time off with your husband to catch a film and enjoy a meal. You’ll be sitting at your desk, next week, all afresh and ready to go. Thanks for hosting.
The kids are obsessed with the coffee shop!! Thanks, we really enjoyed it. You’re right, the break has refreshed me x
You have had a busy week haven’t you ! Great news for your brother, I hope the coffee shop is really successful for him. This weekend sees me out and about a lot, I am a real home bird so as much as it’s exciting I can’t wait until Sunday evening when I can relax. Have a lovely weekend x
I have! Thank you, he is excited about it all. I’m the same as you! x
I love that you have enjoyed your week out. The out weeks do put other stuff on the back burner though. I love that you can still fit into a pre-baby dress. I gave up on that many moons ago ;0) #WotW
They do, but they are worth it. Oh, thanks, it’s only been in recent times that I could! x
It sounds like you have had a really fun week.
Good luck to your brother with the coffee shop! x
I have, thanks! And thank you x
Sometimes being out and about can do you good 🙂 Good luck to your brother for his new venture!
It has done! And thank you x
Sounds like a fun week, I love those busy weeks that are so much fun! Of course the catch up after isn’t as easy but life is for having fun. And how exciting to have a coffee shop that is so cool, I hope he does really well x
It was a good one, the catch up is looking manageable, and it was worth it anyway! Thanks x
