Hello and welcome to Word of the Week!
If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.
My word of the week this week is:
Oh yes, I have been knuckling down to my Open University work this week.
My modules don’t actually start until 7th October, but as I’m studying two modules this year, and as they don’t allow breaks for half term, I was keen to get ahead.
I have decided on how I’m going to manage the two, at least for now anyway. I have concentrated solely on my Level 1 course and I’ve got the first assignment written and ready, and hope to have another completed by this time next week. I will then set that module aside and work through my Level 3 for the next couple of months, keeping pace with the weekly schedule. I think this will work better for me and save me switching between the two each week. Well, that’s what I think anyway, we’ll see!
So I’ve been completing an assignment around Classical Studies and Art History, two new fields to me, and I’m now amidst Religious Studies (fortunately not new!) and English Literature, not a favourite subject of mine, but I’m actually enjoying it so far.
It’s been good to get my head down and immerse myself in it all, and then my study breaks have involved blog work and housework, such treats! It’s all working for me for now anyway, the juggling is going well. Let’s hope it lasts!
What about you? What one word sums up your week best?
Please grab the badge, link up and share…

Linky opens at 6.30am Friday, to midnight on Sunday.
It sounds like you have been super organised this week. Having a plan of attack will mean you get so much more done within the time you have available too. Best of luck with your final year x
I always like to have a plan! Thanks x
I remember those days when I used to submerge myself in studying, it all sounds very interesting and well done on coping with two modules.
#wotw
I am enjoying it, though it’s early days so we’ll see!
Juggling two modules must be difficult. I hope your approach works out for you. Having a plan is better than having no plan at all. They sound interesting modules, so that should help.
Yes, I am interested in them both so keen to read on, hoping that sees me through!
Busy busy! good luck with your studies 🙂
Thanks, Karen x
I think it is good to keep your mind active and learning,
I wish you.all the best with your studying Z #wotw
Thanks very much x
Doesn’t studying make you feel smart?? I always liked school, so it wasn’t hard for me to get in the groove! Although I do like relaxing now that I’m not in school….LOL
Have a great weekend, Jocelyn!!
XOXO

Sometimes it does! Thanks x
You do so well to keep yourself motivated. I’d love to return to studying, especially history, but think I’d spend my time surfing the web rather than knuckling down. I need a dose of your commitment I think, I truly admire it x
I am determined and fortunately I do really enjoy the subjects I study so it keeps me keen! x
Good on you getting ahead in your Open University work…It sounds like you are very organised. x
I’m getting there! x
It sounds like you are on top of things and have it all under control. May it continue to go well for you. Thanks for hosting #WotW
So far…! Thanks x
Glad to hear you are enjoying the studying so far and managing to juggle it all. Good luck with this term’s modules 🙂
Thanks, Louise x
