Word of the Week 26/1/18

Hello and welcome to Word of the Week!

If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.

My word of the week this week is:

Following on from last week, I can tell you that my computer is now working, hooray! This has made me very happy and it’s very fortunate as it has featured in much of my week.

I have spent the week inside. Pretty much the whole week. I have left the house for two short visits to family and then the school runs, but aside from that I have been here, largely at the computer, largely alone. Even over the weekend as the weather was so bad, we were home.

I have got quite a bit of work done, I have filmed and uploaded a couple more vlogs, and I have spent a lot of time studying. I have submitted my fourth assignment for my level 1 course and have then been reading and researching in preparation for my third level 3 assignment.

It’s meant that it has been a quiet week, a fairly solitary week. Working from home can be isolating, distance learning can be isolating, and I do both. It’s funny, though, as I find myself to be quite content and I feel like I’ve been really productive. I’ve been able to get my head down with no distractions or appointments pulling me in other directions. I think it helps that I work only until school pick up (generally, though there is the odd evening that sneaks in) and then I can concentrate on the kids and the home, which is where I can get a bit more social and break out of my reclusive state.

What about you? What one word sums up your week best?

Please grab the badge, link up and share…

  1. It sounds like the perfect week to me ! I love my own company which can be hard having such a busy noisy house sometimes. I think we all need weeks like those. Have a great weekend x

  2. Sometimes we need to take & embrace that solitary time, as it sounds like you’ve done this week – especially as you’re one busy mama; I bet those days are great for ticking things off the to do list. All in all, sounds like a nice week to me… Although I am an introverted homebody, so it would. Haha!

A lovely weekend to you & the family.

  3. I often feel like a reclusive and often prefer it this way. But it’s great when you can also be so productive without having to go out. It sounds like you’ve got loads done.
    Thanks for hosting #wotw x

  4. Its a funny life isnt it, when I am manic busy I just love it, but part of me longs for a peaceful week, but then when I am home and all is quiet I am climbing the walls, on those quiet weeks I try to orange to meet with friends for the odd coffee x

  5. Ah I’m like you in that I like my own company at times and love feeling like I’ve done lots of things. I enjoyed watching your vt on how you organise your snail mail. Thanks for the insight and hosting. #WotW
