Hello and welcome to Word of the Week!
If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.
My word of the week this week is:
It’s been a full week, and it has somehow managed to perfectly balance busy with relaxed, not an easy combination. As I look back over it, buoyant springs to mind, and it also struck me as I wrote it there what an odd looking word it is, so I like it.
We kicked off the week with fun at the Just So Festival, which we all absolutely loved. We had a weekend away and then the Husband had a couple of days off this week, too. We ate out, had movie nights, shopped a little, lounged a little (which means I read a little) and enjoyed the sunshine out in the garden. I’ve also caught up with great friends, which is always lovely to do. It’s been a happy week.
On top of that, we’ve been making a few plans for some little changes around the home, and change always puts me in a good mood, I do love change. Then to make it an even better week, the Husband had a positive pay review when he returned to work, so he was pleased with that.
We even had the Great British Bake Off back this week, which I always enjoy, the icing on the cake!
What about you? What one word sums up your week best?
Please grab the badge, link up and share.
Linky opens at 6.30am Friday, to midnight on Sunday.
Great week and news all round J. Have a lovely bank holiday weekend xx
Thank you! You, too x
Buoyant is a great word, and an interesting one too, I love the way it looks!
Sounds like it’s been a really jam packed, fun week!
It does look funny, doesn’t it?! Thanks 🙂
I love weeks that go like that, everything runs smoothly and there are lots of positives. Just So looked awesome I must try and pay a visit when my two are a little older I think they would really enjoy it. #WotW
Oh yes, it was great! Loads of little ones there, they’d have a blast! x

I like that word 🙂 sounds like you’ve a lovely week, and I love the Bake Off too 😀
Oh, it is brilliant!
I like the word buoyant too and it sounds like a very good description for your week – managing to perfectly balance busy and relaxed and stay afloat on top of it all. What a lovely week you’ve had and well done to your hubby on his positive pay review. Hope you have a lovely weekend too. Thanks for hosting #WotW 🙂
It’s been lovely, and thank you very much x
I like that you’ve stayed afloat this week 🙂 I think my week has been quite similar, I’ve had quite a relaxed week and not done much (except reading) but everyone around me has managed to get a lot done.
Always reading, always reading..!
That is a great word and it sounds like a fab week.
We love Bake off too….It always makes me want cake though when watching it. lol
Oh yes, I always have to get cakes ready before we settle down to it!
Awwww sounds like a lovely week for you and your family. Just so festival looks amazing and what a place to go to X #wotw
It was brilliant, we loved it! x
Sounds fab – a real combination of being busy and chilled! Well done to your hubby and I bet you loved all the chilling and reading 🙂 it’s been quite a warm week! Thanks for hosting xx
I certainly did – sunshine and reading and I am happy! x
Great word Jocelyn! It’s not like you to relax… ! 😉 Thanks for hosting #wotw
I know! But I did and it was good!
It sounds like you have had a lovely week. A pay rise is fantastic news and always helps. We have also had lovely weather this summer holidays which really has helped. Last year it felt like all it did was rain xx #WotW
Yes, the weather has definitely made a difference, let’s hope it lasts! x
What a great week, and a lovely surprise about Hubby’s pay review – ties in nicely to the little changes you have planned for around the home *winks!*
It is difficult to balance busy with relaxation sometimes but sounds like you managed it beautifully.
Thanks for the linky & Have a good week
xx
It absolutely does, and some of it may have already been spent! It has worked this week, it’s been a good one, thanks x
I have missed the bak off so far grrr, the festival looked fab. I cant believe how summer has flown but this is my favourite time of year I love the anticipation of autumn x
It really has flown by, I want it to stick around a bit longer! X
