Word of the Week 29/12/17

Hello and welcome to Word of the Week!

If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.

My word of the week this week is:

I do hope everyone’s had a good Christmas?

In a week that has pretty much flown by, the word that stands out to me is ‘together’. We’ve been fortunate to all be home together all week and it’s been great to enjoy lots of family time. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying there haven’t been testing moments – like Little Man not going to sleep until four hours past his bedtime on Christmas Eve because he was so excited and then panicking as he couldn’t sleep and would Santa come if he was awake?! I think the excitement of Christmas can make for some high energy crazy moments, from the kids not me you understand, but all in all, it has been just lovely.

We have spent time together with our families enjoying the festivities and over-indulging in so much food, just so much! We have then had days which have been a good mixture of sales shopping – we have some gorgeous Lush bath bombs, yet more Yankee candles, a fair bit of stationery (obviously) and the kids have got themselves even more toys! – and then lounging around together watching films and playing games.

A week of togetherness, and we still have a few more days to enjoy. Hope you all do, too.

What about you? What one word sums up your week best?

Please grab the badge, link up and share…

    1. It is, it’s been great. Though at this very moment as I type this there is a Nerf battle taking place all over my house with so it’s one of those moments that alone might be preferred to together! x

  1. Your week sounds just lovely. We had a little over excitement at bedtime on Christmas eve, I think all the build up overwhelms them sometimes. I’ve not shopped the sales this year although it has been tempting. Wishing you a happy new year and all the best for 2018 xx

  2. It sounds like you’ve had a lovely Christmas. I’ve never had any trouble getting my three to sleep on Christmas Eve, I don’t know why, they were super excited this year. I hope you have a great New Year too x
    Thanks for hosting x

  3. Ahh! My youngest wouldn’t go to sleep on Christmas eve either. The excitement was just too much.
It sounds like a lovely week!
Happy new year and wishing you all the best for 2018 x

  4. Awww so glad that you had a lovely Christmas together with your family. My youngest couldn’t sleep very well and Christmas Eve because he kept checking to see if santa had been, lol! We also have been spending time playing games X #wotw

  6. Together would be a good word for our week. I love this week and having so much family time.I feel Little Man’s panic about not falling asleep in time. I’m assuming he did in the end. Hope you enjoy the rest of your week.

    1. It is a lovely time of year. He did in the end, of course, though only after coming in to sleep with us! Thanks, you too x

  7. Ah it sounds perfect, there is nothing better than a bit of chilled family time. It has flown for us too. I bet that was stressful, its so hard when they cant sleep on Christmas Eve it leaves you needing matchsticks in your eyes on Christmas Day ! I remember it well! Happy New Year to you all and heres to an amazing 2018 x
