Hello and welcome to Word of the Week!
If you’re new here, Word of the Week is a nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. You reflect back on the past week and sum it up in one word. Then share your word with us in a blog post, with as little or as much explanation as you like. It’s a fun and friendly linky, so please do be lovely and visit as many of the other blogs as you can and share with them your thoughts on their words and weeks. I do comment on every entry to the linky, and if you add the Word of the Week badge to your post to help spread the ‘word’, I also tweet them out.
My word of the week this week is:
I do love December. I am feeling Christmassy and we’ve enjoyed a festive week.
Over the weekend we put our tree and decorations up, which set the tone perfectly for the rest of the week.
We have eaten mince pies, watched Christmas films and I’ve worked whilst listening to Christmas songs. Our Christmas cards have been written and I have started sending them out. I have even got a little wrapping done, and I hate wrapping!
We visited the beautiful Warwick Castle and loved seeing it in all of its Christmas glory, including the 20-foot high Christmas tree. I’ll share a few photos from there next week, it did make me feel all happy and festive.
I’ve been out for a couple of evenings for pre-Christmas meals and catch-ups, which have naturally involved lots of Christmas chat.
Then to really take it to another level, Little Man performed in his nativity play yesterday – oh, it was so lovely to see! He’s doing it again this afternoon, so I will be there again, savouring my last ever nativity as they only perform it whilst in Reception at my children’s school. I have Boo’s carol service to then look forward to in a couple of weeks time. Ah, the festive feeling!
What about you? What one word sums up your week best?
Please grab the badge, link up and share…
Linky opens at 6.30am Friday, to midnight on Sunday.
Snap! We’ve put our tree up too and it’s been lovely to start getting into a festive mood. Well done to Little Man on performing in the Nativity and hope you enjoy seeing it again this morning. Our local school is the same with only doing the Nativity with Reception. Hope you have a lovely weekend and thanks for hosting #WotW
I do love a Nativity, so sweet to watch x
What a lovely week you have all had ! I think having kids in primary school makes it feel even more festive with all the Christmas plays, concerts and activities they do. Have a lovely weekend x
It does, there’s so much going on! x
The run up to Christmas is so lovely, especially when you have children’s plays and concerts to look forward to. I know my Little Man’s year is doing ‘A Christmas Carol’ but we don’t have the dates yet. I have no idea of what the girls will be doing but I’m sure there will be a concert in there somewhere, particularly as their school has a pretty amazing concert hall. In the meantime we have an inset day today complete with snow! Now, this feels festive.
Thanks for hosting x
Oh, what a well-timed inset day! x
Your week has been very festive! I haven’t got into the Christmas spirit yet.. bah humbug! LOL!
There’s plenty of time! x
Sounds a lovely week, full of festive cher. Warwick Castle is beautiful place to walk around X #wotw
It’s so beautiful and atmospheric there x
hehehe! Great minds think alike. It’s my word too…
It really is starting to feel like Christmas….I hate wrapping too but have got some presents wrapped.
Ahh! The nativity sounds lovely. My girls only did it in Reception class too which is a real shame. This year Ellie’s school is putting on a play and she’s an angel which is a little more exciting than the normal carol service. x
That sounds lovely, hope Ellie enjoys it x
Your week sounds just like ours. I thought my son’s last nativity was last year but it sounds like they might all be doing something together this year. I don’t find out until next week. It was the nursery one this week for us. I actually wrapped up all of my presents today. I was on a roll ;0) #WotW
Oh, well done, you! x
Ah I do miss the nativity and Carole service, but having older kids brings other exciting things, I bet Warwick castle is stunning at this time of year x
Oh, it was so beautiful! It is fun with little ones, but yes, different fun as they get older I imagine x
I’ve also been feeling pretty festive this week – I think it might be the cold temperatures making it feel a bit closer to Christmas too.
Yes, definitely, and we’re covered in snow here today
